Tell us about your career so far. What did you do before you came to Akubo?
Few months before graduation, I worked as a Web Developer in one of the startup company here in Bacolod for almost 2 years. After that, I joined Akubo in September 2015.
What originally drew you to apply to Akubo?
I saw the job ad shared by one of the IT Admin in Transcom. That time, I was looking for a new job already. I was hesitant at first to apply for the position because my experience in design was very limited, but a friend of mine said “Try lang, wala man may madula” (“Give it a try, you’ll lose nothing”)
What projects do you work on?
I’m handling most of the Akubo WordPress websites. (from creating mock ups to converting it into WordPress)
What do you like about being a Graphic Designer?
I remember this quote and it still rings true. “Do something you love as a job, and you’ll never work a day in your life”.
Tell us about a typical day at work.
Aside from checking emails and slack, coffee first to start my day.
What’s the most rewarding part about being a Graphic Designer / being in Akubo?
Being able to witness my ideas literally come to life.
What’s the key to managing / completing a project successfully?
Be committed. Do it with your full commitment, otherwise, what’s the point?
What do you find most challenging about your work? How do you deal with it?
Juggling multiple tasks with different needs at the same time. But being constantly challenged makes me better at coming up with new ideas.
How do you define success?
Without the word “struggle”, success has no value at all.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
CrossFit, boxing and travel.
