A common occurrence in Akubo is having duplicate contacts that contain a donation/sale transaction.
This can happen when a donation/sale comes into Akubo via a credit card transaction wherein a donor/contact uses a different name (e.g. Bob Miller vs. Robert Miller) when they submit their CC transaction. So you’ll end up with a new contact record created on your Akubo database that is essentially a duplicate contact even if the names are slightly different.
There is an Akubo feature you can use to transfer the donation/sale from one contact record to another. Just go to the transactions section and call up the donation/sale:
Select the transaction by clicking on the checkbox beside it, click the “Select Action” drop-down and choose “Reassign Donation(s)” or “Reassign Sales(s)”.
A pop-up will appear where you can enter the name of the contact to reassign the donation/sale to:
When the search results appear, select the contact you want to reassign the donation/sale to:
Clicking “Select” moves the donation/sale to the contact you selected:
After you confirm that the transaction has been moved, you can then remove the duplicate contact (Robert Miller) from your Akubo database.
